Christina focused on art making since the age of 13, with formal training from 16.

She went on to complete a foundation degree in art and design
at the University of Wolverhampton, England and a Bachelor of Arts in applied illustration from University of the West of England, Bristol.

Christina works as an artist and illustrator accepting private commissions including murals, landscapes and figurative pieces.

Her works are also shown with Wentworth Galleries in Sydney and at Pallisandros gallery in Greece.

‘I've been working on this design for a number of years now, trying to perfect what it's come to be an archetype. Since university, I've been interested in cultures from all over the world, trying to find a common background that I'm sure we all share as a race. In most Asian cultures, the Koi carries the virtues of grace, resilience, adaptation, inner stillness and change. Buddhists use it as an emblem of persistence.

In Greek myths it comes as a Picses, for example,  Aphrodite & Eros escaped Typhon by shapeshifting into Pisces and their tails remained intertwined forever.
For me, The Koi symbolizes the human soul and its journeys in life. It is an esoteric Odyssey translated for every culture to be able to find links with.

The metallic dots on their heads shimmer, to bounce back the light. In Greece, my country, the light represents knowledge. It is placed on their heads, initially inspired by the breed of Nishigikoi, as a compass that guides us through our journeys. To me, knowledge, is the opposite of fear.
May the Koi remind you of how strong one can be, surpassing all the obstacles with grace and perseverance.
With determination and courage, dedication, and bravery, may the Koi remind you to keep going upstream.’ -Christina Tsaou
