Colin Parker Biography

Colin Parker is an artist of outstanding talent and ability who is best known for his figurative depiction of outback Australia in oils.  His name is one that conjures up an immediate affinity for the Australian landscape with its harshness and sheer isolation that is so boldly  and colourfully captured in his works.

Colin has spent a lot of time as ‘Artist in Residence’ at locations throughout Australia including Uluru and the Central Desert as well as Kakadu National Park.

As well as his love of painting outback Australia, Colin has painted in Paris, Southern France, Rome and the North of Italy - his ‘Paris in the  Snow’ series winning many accolades. Colin is a respected Art Judge and recently completed four years as President of the Royal Art Society of New South Wales.  He has been hung in the prestigious Archibald Prize, Art Gallery of NSW twice, four times in the Wynne Prize for Landscape and has won First Prize in Sydney’s Royal Easter Show competition on three occasions.

His works are included in many Corporate Collections both in Australia and Internationally, in State Government  Collections and in Commonwealth Government Collections.
